Understanding mompreneur life challenges and how did it start being a thing?
A real day in mompreneur life starts from the moment you open your eyes. You’re pulled in a hundred different directions – feeding the kids, answering emails, preparing meals, attending meetings, designing your new landing page, writing a new blog, giving a new review, collaborating with a new business owner, the list never seems to end.
A mompreneur life does not stop when the weekend starts. She is on a continuous mission on learning more and researching more. Sometimes she takes many courses to enhance her skills. Free courases would be her target in the beginning. Cutting costs and DIY is every mompreneur best friend. Guilty as acharged-I’m one of them. In order to save money, I would binge on YouTube tutorials to save the money I would hire someone to do it for me. It works!
The rise of mompreneur life
The word “mompreneur” started in the early 2000s to describe moms who run their own businesses while also being moms. It happened as more moms wanted to have jobs that fit their family life. The internet and online businesses made it easier for moms to do this from home. Many women liked this way of working, and it became more popular. Now, it’s a common thing for moms to be both business owners and parents.
Can we call a mom who is a blogger or a content creator a mompreneur?
Yes! You can call a momblogger an entrepreneur. Many mombloggers turn their blogs into businesses by monetizing them through advertising, sponsored content, affiliate marketing, and selling products or services. They often invest time and effort into growing their blog and managing it like a business, making them entrepreneurial in nature.
Is it mompreneur or momtreprenur?
Both are right! I personally prefer mompreneur and I call myself a mompreneur. A Mompreneur is a delightful fusion of a ‘mom’ and an ‘entrepreneur,’ capturing the essence of a woman who has decided to embark on the entrepreneurial journey while managing the demands of motherhood. It’s a world of multitasking, where nurturing a business is just as crucial as nurturing a family. The term encapsulates the strength, determination, and resilience of these remarkable women who dare to chase their dreams while embracing their role as mothers.
In other simpler words, mompreneurship is every devoted loving mom who is doing everything she can to support herself and her kids financially by creating, making something at home under her management, supervision and on her busy schedule as a full time mom for money. An entrepreneur mom is the CEO and the janitor of her SOHO ( small office, home office). She fires and hires and give holidays.
Why “nowadays” many moms prefer the mompreneur life style over corporate careers?
The answer for that question is quite easy. Millennial moms like myself who already worked for the large part of their life and after having kids we preferred to spend time with our little ones while trying to generate an income from home where we can breastfeed or change a diaper for our baby. Some other times, we simply could not find the right job that will compensate us for spending that precious time away from our family and chose not to commute for little money. In addition to that, most of the mompreneurs I know already have a passion or a hobby and decided to turn that into a business.

How to Get Started : Developing a business plan for your mompreneur life
Starting your mompreneurial journey is both exhilarating and challenging. It is not easy, and it is not I will get-ritch-quickly. It is a long journey, and it takes real effort, and patience, but it is rewarding.
But how can you start and succeed if you did not study business before? If you are anything like myself, I have been dreaming of having something and call it my business. But never knew what it is and/or where and how to start. I did a massive research , I tried and failed. I researched things I would have never imagined I will have any knowledge about. I’m not the same person in business I was a year ago, a month ago, a week ago. Every day passes I get improved in one aspect, even in my writing.
That is why mama, grab a pen and a paper because you will take lots of notes here. You can also save this post or share it with your friends on social media for future reference.
